SCA at NJK 2022 and the ALV

In this newsletter we look back at the ALV 2022 and a successful NJK. Also, you can still register for the SCA BBQ on 2 July!

SCA at the NJK 2022

In the weekend of 11 and 12 June, many SCA youth fencers again participated in the Dutch Youth Championships (NJK) in Alkmaar. Fencers had a lot of fun and the many got nice results! In addition, SCA was again ranked as the best club in the country. Lots of thanks also to the coaches and referees who were there for SCA.

Looking back at the ALV 2022

On 14 June, SCA organized the general assembly (ALV) 2022, which was well-visited by members. During the ALV, the board looked back at 2021 and presented plans for the coming period. We are also saying goodbye to two board members and four new board members have been confirmed during the ALV. Thanks to David Gardenier (Chair) and Jeff Strunks (board member – youth) for all their effort the past years! And a warm welcome to Peter Sorber (Chair), Heleen Schipperheijn (board member – youth) and Jane Dmitrova (board member – member projects)! Also Emile Spek will join the board. He will take over as treasurer from Pim Bongers in half a year.

SCA BBQ on 2 July

On 2 July, it is time for the SCA BBQ, and you can still register! This year the FOS will take care of everything, also the BBQ and dessert for EUR 20 for adults and EUR 10 for children, including the food and a drink. Furthermore, the fencing hall will be open 15:00-17:00 for free fencing, so bring your friends and family to try out fencing! The BBQ will start at 17:00 at the FOS terrace (upstairs).

Summer break Apollohal

The Apollohal will be closed part of the summer, meaning that there will be no training sessions. The last training before summer will be 29 June, and the first one again 24 August.
