Dear SCA Members,

The coming months, SCA is organizing various fun events, including the club championships and the SCA BBQ! Furthermore, we are sharing some updates about Friends of SCA. Lastly, in the weekend op 11 June the Dutch youth championships (NJK) will take place, and in the weekend of 9 July the Dutch championships for seniors (NK). So subscribe via the Nahouw or ask trainer Daniël!

Club championships
In May and June, SCA is again organizing the annual club championships! For the youth and senior fencers, some regular training sessions will be replaced for SCA tournaments on various weapons. Next to participating in a fun competition, you can try out a weapon you don’t normally fence with! Below you will find the dates for the club championships (on these dates there is no regular training):

Tuesday 31 May 18:00-19:00 youth 1 foil

Club championships seniors in June
Thursday 2 June 20:30-23:00 sabre
Tuesday 7 June 20:30-23:00 epee
Thursday 9 June 20:30-23:00 foil

Keep in mind: during the club championships, the club is not open to guest members.

 

SCA BBQ
On 2 July, it is time for the SCA BBQ! We will again organize it at the Frans Otten Stadion. This year the FOS will take care of everything, also the BBQ and dessert for EUR 20 for adults and EUR 10 for children, including the food and a drink. Furthermore, the fencing hall will be open 15:00-17:00 for free fencing, so bring your friends and family to try out fencing! The BBQ will start at 17:00 at the FOS terrace (upstair).

Friends of SCA is taking shape!
Since the launch of Friends of SCA in September 2021, several members and non-members have applied to become a friend or sponsor of SCA. This makes us very happy! The donations have so far been used to support competition and recreative fencers of SCA. For example, registration fees have been paid for competition fencers participating at world cups in Caïro, Istanbul and Belgrade (where Daniël accomplished a fantastic result). In addition, donations have been made towards fencing equipment for youth fencers. The coming times, Friends of SCA will further think about supporting the club’s goals.
