With Christmas ahead of us, we are sharing the last newsletter of 2022, including information about the new year’s drinks, events calendar and the upcoming SISTA tournament. In addition, there is a vacancy at the SCA board!End-of-year messageFrom our Chair, Peter Sorber:

2022 is almost over and 2023 is about to begin. I wish everyone a great year with lots of sportive successes, happiness, love, health and peace. I hope to see everyone at the new year’s drinks to celebrate the new year with new dreams.New year’s drinks🥂🍾To start the new fencing year together, there will be new year’s drinks on 6 January at the FOS restaurant! Starting 21:45 (after the training), everyone is welcome to have a drink. The first drink is on SCA!Events calendarSince not too long, SCA has an events calendar, including an overview of upcoming social events, club tournaments and other events. This overview is available in the fencing hall, and will be shared via newsletters and on social media. The current calendar can be found here.SISTA 2023On the 21 and 22 January, the SISTA tournament will take place at Sporthallen Zuid in Amsterdam. As usual, SCA helps out with the organization. Both youth fencers (epee and foil) and senior fencers (epee, foil and sabre) can participate. So register now via the Nahouw or at the club!Do you not want to participate, but do want to watch fencing at a high level? Then come watch Sunday afternoon! The finals will start around 16:00. During the tournament, it will also be possible to buy fencing equipment at Lieffertz Fecht-Shop. Do you want to be sure that your equipment is available? Then send an email with your order beforehand to Lieffertz!Lastly, we would like to know whether there are volunteers to help with preparations on Friday or cleaning up on Sunday after the finals. If you would like to help, you can ask trainer Daniël.Vacancy SCA boardFor the SCA board, we are looking for a new secretary. In the role of secretary, you would (among other things) work on various projects for the club, preparing board meetings and the ALV, and drafting news letters. The new secretary would start after the next ALV (in the Spring).
