Autumn is back, and with it, some good news and initiatives. Hopefully, we will see you soon at the club to enjoy them!

Saturday trainings are back – our next dates will be the following:

Soon we will inform you also about Fencing with Friends and Parents & Children Fencing.

Mark your calendar so you don’t miss the Parents & Children Fencing event on Saturday, December 2nd! Get ready to have some fun and share these moments with us as we celebrate the upcoming Sinterklaas together.

Stay tuned for exciting updates on upcoming Saturday activities, like Fencing with Friends and skill-boosting workshops. We are happy to spread the fencing passion across your family and acquaintances!

WhatsApp community

For all the members to stay connected and engaged those already part of our SCA WhatsApp groups, we have created a new an extended SCA WhatsApp community. The new community will allow to improve communication among fencers, but also to keep you posted on our initiative events, or to just easily retrieve the information you are looking for.

This is your hub for club news, event updates, and important announcements, such as Saturday fencing, holiday opening hours, workshops and competitions, but also the place where you can ask for advice on equipment, inquire about training schedules, or share your fencing experiences. If you are not already part of the community, please feel free to join via this link.

SISTA Tournament

The Sista Tournament this year has been a great success, thanks everyone for the support and help! We had more than 300 participants from 36 different countries, which was amazing to watch. The women’s and men’s competition was a Worldcup Satelite A competition, with our own Daniel, Teun and Saskia in the top 64: congrats! In the regular competition on sabre, both Slavyana and Gleb won in the men and women competitions. Among the pupils, Laszlo was the best! You can find the full results with this link.

Announcement fees and rates 2024

With this message we inform you about the changes in contribution for the new year 2024. In the General Meeting of Members on June 2, 2023, we took approved decisions for the most important rates.

SCA is still facing substantial cost increases in its contracts and obligations. However, we succeeded to keep the rise of most of the rates for our members well below inflation.

Moreover we will be able to offer more hours of fencing in 2024.

As of 1-1-2024, the monthly contributions are as follows:

Youth (up to and including 18 yrs) € 33,-
Student € 40,- (copy of enrollment needed)
Adult € 47,-
Guest member € 31,-

The rental rate for a locker will be € 72,- per year
The floor fee for participating in a separate training for non-members will stay at € 15,- per time after the hefty rise last year
The fee for the adult introduction course will be € 65,-
The repair fees in case of breakage of a weapon of the club stay at € 10,- (small repair) and € 20,- (large repair)

All members of SCA are mandatory member of the KNAS, among other things to be able to participate in tournaments and for insurances. The KNAS contribution for 2024 is not known yet. We will inform you in a coming newsletter. Currently it is: Youth (up to and including 21 yrs) € 31.65 per year and Adult € 63.30 per year

The new fee KNAS for 2024 will be collected automatically in December 2023

Contrary to other sport associations, SCA has a monthly contribution fee, instead of a yearly contribution. With that arrangement comes the obligation that members have a full month notice in case of termination of membership.
